Russia: Specialists checked tulips for pests

Specialists of the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Krasnoyarsk Territory carried out phytosanitary control of flower products. There are only a few days left before spring flowers will be sold in all shops in the city and the region. This year, 200,000 bulbs were planted in the greenhouses of the Green Building Administration of the city of Krasnoyarsk, and the harvest, as agronomists say, is excellent.

On the territory of the region, the situation with pests is relatively favorable. There are only isolated cases of detection of quarantine pests, more often on imported products. The most dangerous of the quarantine pests on flowers and fruits, and vegetables is the Western California thrips.

The task of specialists is to prevent the spread of the pest. On the eve of International Women's Day, only phytosanitary-safe greenhouse flowers will go on sale.
