Trade Fair Rijswijk: what to expect?

Besides networking with growers, colleagues, and Royal FloraHolland account managers, there is more to do, see and learn at Trade Fair Rijswijk. The program has been announced for the fair, which takes place on March 15 and 16 at the Broodfabriek in Rijswijk. Read about some of what you might experience there.

Floriday will organize an interactive Floriday Explorer workshop. "From now on, you can easily search the deepest and widest range of flowers, plants, and hardware. We will take you through three Floriday features during the workshop: selecting favorites, managing assortment, and finding inspiration." This workshop will be held on Wednesday at 10 am and Thursday at 1 pm at the Trade Fair Rijswijk Presentation Dôme.

"Royal FloraHolland's latest service, Select Delivery for buyers, is a must at Trade Fair Rijswijk. Find out how convenient this service is, as from now on, you can decide your delivery time. The first available time slot is for the Auction Presales transactions: you will receive these in your box between 6 and 8 am. Would you like to know more? There will be a presentation at the Trade Fair Rijswijk Presentation Dôme at 11 am on Wednesday."

Sustainability
The Flower Council of Holland conducted extensive research into how consumers view sustainability in relation to flowers and plants. Consumers in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and the UK were polled. What are the positive and negative associations and consumer concerns? Speaker Monique Kemperman, campaign manager at the Flower Council of Holland, will discuss the results at their stand on Wednesday at 1 pm and Thursday at 2 pm.

New European rules on annual sustainability reporting (CSRD) call for much more transparency on environmental, social, and governance issues of large companies. From FY2025, auditors will check whether the reported sustainability information is complete and reliable. All this is aimed at making companies more sustainable and future-proof. Maaike Fleur, sustainable development program manager at Royal FloraHolland, addresses the following questions: What exactly are these European rules? What exactly should you do? How should you prepare for this? Why do you need to start now? What are the implications for your business? Would you like to know more? You will hear more and be able to ask questions at 11 am on Thursday in the Trade Fair Rijswijk Presentation Dôme.

Future-proof floriculture
Developments in horticulture are fast-moving. Innovation, sustainability, and global developments play a major role. With the war in Ukraine lasting longer and its end not yet in sight, the direct effects on sales are being felt in the Dutch floriculture industry. In addition, sustainability is an increasingly important topic. Arne Bac, sector manager of Food & Agri, horticulture at Rabobank, will be giving suggestions on how to set up your business accordingly at 2 pm on Wednesday. Location: Trade Fair Rijswijk Presentation Dôme.

Social media is another ubiquitous topic. More and more social platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok are emerging. Some grow rapidly and vigorously, others slowly and steadily. What can we expect in social media in 2023? And what will you be able to do with it? Guy Sie, a social media marketer at the Flower Council of Holland, is happy to tell you more about it. On Wednesday at 3 pm and on Thursday at 2.30 pm at the Flower Council of Holland stand.
