Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group, supplier of packaging, appointed Ian Rasmussen (48) as the new CEO. Rasmussen has a background in Aviation and Space Technology and Business Administration. He started his career at the European Space Agency (ESA). After a number of years, he made the switch to the business community.
In 2015 Ian started as the Operational Director at Moolenaar, a company that supplies packaged bulbs, seeds, and plants to large retailers. He advanced to the role of CEO, a position he has held since 2020. Under his management, Moolenaar grew into a successful business with a strong market position.
Bert van Dongen and Lyanne Paardekooper, the Board of Directors of Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group, are delighted with the arrival of Rasmussen: ‘We got to know Ian as an analytically strong and strategic leader with a tremendous drive to improve. He knows how to connect people and he is open and interested in our organization and industry. We are convinced that he can lead Paardekooper to the next phase’, according to Bert van Dongen, CFO of Royal Paardekooper Group.
‘The world of packaging is becoming ever more complex. The requirements and demands of society change. We aim to lead the European field in sustainable packaging. Ian shares this vision with us,’ according to Lyanne Paardekooper, the fourth generation of the family business. ‘We are convinced that Ian can assist in realizing our ambitions and will further develop our business as a trendsetting and sustainable packaging specialist.’
Rasmussen is looking forward to his new challenge: ‘Paardekooper is a wonderful company with a rich history and a strong market position. I am proud to be given this opportunity to contribute to the further development and growth of the company. I look forward to meeting the team and working on the future of Paardekooper together.’
