UK: Blue Diamond acquires 43rd Garden Centre

The first of two acquisitions for 2023 have been confirmed by the Managing Director, Alan Roper, which will be 'Beckworth Emporium' in Northamptonshire.

Blue Diamond will build upon the great food and catering experience at Beckworth, which fits exactly the Blue Diamond AB1 target demographic.

The Emporium is located in Mears Ashby, nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside near the Sywell Aerodrome, not far from the A14.

Alan said, "The centre has a total turnover of £9.3m, of which over 60% is restaurant and food-related (£3.5m catering, 2.0m food sales), which we will develop further while significantly growing the horticultural and gardening sales. A Blue Diamond clothing department will be added next year. Despite the challenges faced when buying a business built on an owner's (David Brown's) passion, I will make it my mission to keep the heart that makes Beckworth a unique and very special business beating strongly."
