US: Most online searched spring flowers per state

What are the most popular blooms this spring? With billions of searches a year happening on Yahoo Search, the team of Yahoo took a look at the most searched spring flowers per state. What are the people searching for? Tulips, daffodils, and irises topped the list, as you can see in the graphic below. 

Gardening is blooming. Today an estimated 55% of households in the US garden (that’s 71.5 million households), thanks to an influx of 18+ million households (a majority being Millennials) that began during Covid. A report out last month noted US households spent a record $503 (up almost $100 over the previous year) on gardening goods. 

Looking at search engine trends offers a unique look at the zeitgeist of the moment - in this case, spring flowers, whether it’s gardening newbies or city dwellers looking up floral care.
