Rose flowering season starts in June. Traditionally, the Rose Garden in Kortrijk, Belgium, is in the spotlight with a grand Rose Festival on June 25. The Rose Garden also receives international interest. On June 4, the World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS) will come to Kortrijk with a delegation of rose lovers from all over the world.
The International Rose Garden of Kortrijk, managed by the province of West Flanders, the city of Kortrijk, and Inagro, includes a demonstration garden, an experimental garden, and a historical garden. In 2012, it received the 'Garden Excellence' award from the WFRS. Only rose gardens that are exceptional thanks to their history, rose collection, and educational or aesthetic value receive this recognition.
On Sunday, June 4, the federation of national rose associations from 40 countries will visit the Rose Garden. There are over 150 entries from rose enthusiasts worldwide, from the US and Canada to China, Japan, and New Zealand. The Rose Garden has already received many international visitors over the years, but the arrival of such a large international delegation is quite unique.
