UK: Summer centrepiece workshop to celebrate British flower industry

Florist and flower farmer Sarah Hill has announced the Summer Centrepiece Workshop, an immersive event championing locally grown flowers.

The workshop promises to inspire flower enthusiasts and creative minds alike, providing step-by-step guidance to craft a beautiful arrangement that captures the essence of the season.

All flowers used during the workshop will be sourced from Sarah's own flower farm and other North Devon & Somerset growers, all members of Flowers from the Farm. This not-for-profit membership association champions over 960 independent artisan growers of local, seasonal British cut flowers across the UK. By using locally grown flowers, the Summer Centrepiece Workshop supports sustainable practices and showcases the natural beauty and diversity of British blooms.

"Whether you are a seasoned flower arranger or a complete beginner, this workshop promises to inspire you to get creative with surprising flowers and plants and will shine a light on the evolution of the British flower-growing industry," Sarah said.

The workshop will be held in the newly restored Threshing Barn at Emmetts on Exmoor near Simonsbath on Wednesday, August 16, at 2 pm. The team at Emmetts will provide a delicious cream tea following the workshop. The Summer Centrepiece Workshop welcomes individuals of all skill levels and interests, making it the perfect opportunity for flower enthusiasts, hobbyists, and those seeking a creative outlet.
