New spraying robot for Villa Gerbera

A few weeks ago, Horticoop Technical Services commissioned a new Meto spraying robot at Villa Gerbera.

The reason for this new Meto is because the old robot was worn out, and because Villa Gerbera was satisfied with the previous Meto spraying robot. New to this spraying robot is the 3/4″ hose. This hose has a larger diameter than the normal 1/2″ hose and therefore ensures less pressure loss.

The spray robot is new, the spray boom is not. The spray boom has been transferred from the old to the new spray robot. The previous (Pieton) spray robot was no longer available, hence the choice of this one.

With the 8-meter-wide spray boom, one whole section can be sprayed at a time through the 11 pocket nozzles with 4 nozzles each. In addition, the spray boom has 10 (black) pocket nozzles for spraying the heart of the plant.

The nice thing is that the previous spraying robot (in 2004) was also commissioned by Pim, a mechanic at HTS.
