Impression Naivasha Horticultural Fair

The 21st edition of the Naivasha Horticultural Fair has come to an end on Saturday. This two-day event attracted, as usual, a lot of flower growers and other horticultural players who were all interested in seeing and learning more about the products and services of the 250+ exhibitors who participated. As it is an outdoor event, the weather plays a crucial role, and fortunately, it was dry and sunny.

According to Chairman Richard McGonnell, the show was again very international, with all important players, national and international, being present. "From greenhouse manufacturers, breeders, plastic producers, suppliers of chemicals, fertilizers supplier, solar, water, freight solutions suppliers as well as Corporate Social Responsibility," they were all there.", he says.

The Fair has always been held in a very casual manner, and also this year. "People mingled with friends that maybe they hadn't seen since the previous year and enjoyed a glass or two of their favorite drinks or tea or coffee. And even more so after Covid, when we missed two years. This year, we have seen a huge amount of new interest."

All the profits from Naivasha Horticultural Fair go to local causes, mostly based around the Woman Child, "We have actually built a whole secondary school, Nyamathi Secondary School, classrooms, Clinics, water harvesting, and our own, Naivasha Safe House, a rescue shelter for abused children."

The event showcases products and services from stakeholders in the horticultural industry (primarily the flower industry but also car manufacturers, accessories, financial institutions, etc., as you can see in the picture above).

Next year, the fair will take place from September 20 to 21.
