Pymwymic and Horticoop invest in Vivent

Investment companies Pymwymic and Horticoop have bought into Swiss-based Vivent, a company specializing in developing plant sensors. It is "a significant stake". No disclosures were made about amounts and percentages.

Vivent's biosensor/fitbit for plants warns about issues well before symptoms are visible so growers can take appropriate cultivation measures. Vivent's Biosensor is the first commercial crop health diagnostic system based on plant electrophysiology. Plant electrophysiology uses the internal electrical signaling network of plants to coordinate growth, reproduction, and defense.

Vivent's solutions are successfully applied in high-tech greenhouses and vertical farms and are increasingly used for outdoor crops such as potatoes, apples, grapes, and sugar beet. This means Vivent can serve a wide range of growers and crops in Europe and North America.
