Last week, Willburg Projecten delivered the three-hundredth buffer conveyor belt to Juma in the Dutch municipality of Baarlo. To be precise, we are talking about serial numbers 297, 298, 299, and 300, which together make up two mobile plants that can be used to streamline the entire production of potted plants at the 5.5. ha garden.
Marc Peters and Paul Rademaker
Juma is a nursery owned by Marc Peters and part of Gartenbau Marc Peters, a pot plant nursery with its own facilities in Kranenburg (Germany), Venlo, and, since last year, also in Baarlo. Marc Peters took the latter over from Plantise, the plant grower who, as is well known, went out of business last year.
"This is a milestone for Willburg Projects," said Paul Rademaker, head of sales at Willburg Projects, who paid a visit last week to bring a cake and flowers. "With these two buffer belt conveyor systems, the grower can efficiently handle the plants for their pruning, caning, tying, or cleaning. The plants can also be easily made to go through a special spray booth, which was also developed by us."
Lastly, the system allows the plants to be steered over on the descending buffer belt. The buffer belt conveyor systems are completely mobile, so they can be set up anywhere in the complex.
Gartenbau Marc Peters produces mainly in 17 and 19-cm pots. The assortment consists of a wide range of garden plants, including Abutilon, Anisodonthea, Cestrum, Fuchsia, Heliotropium, Lantana, Solanum jasminoides, Solanum rantonetii, Tibouchina, Bougainsvillea, Dipladenia Sundaville, and Brugmansia.
By the way, these men have known each other already for a long time. A buffer belt system was also delivered to the garden in Venlo a few years ago. Click on the link for a video.
