Floricode Event explores digital sustainability in floriculture

Last week, representatives from the floriculture sector gathered at Floricode Event 2023 in the Netherlands. They explored the world of digital sustainability. Interesting speakers addressed current topics such as Artificial Intelligence, secure data exchange, and ecological footprints. This event opened the doors to a digital world full of sustainable opportunities where technology and collaboration are vital for a greener future.

Eye on the future
Floricode's new director, Henk Poldervaart, opened the day. A series of speakers then explored different topics. Lan van Wassenaer, Bart Boevé, and Harrij Schmeitz, each with their expertise and background, delved into the various aspects of data exchange. Harmen van Dam talked about the ins and outs of footprint calculation, and finally, Ron Wehrens and Laurina Lokerman highlighted AI's possibilities in floriculture.

Henk Zwinkels' farewell
The afternoon was dedicated to Henk Zwinkels' farewell. After working in the floriculture sector for almost 40 years and being involved with Floricode for ten of those, he is leaving. Henk took guests Floricode's history and how he experienced the transition from paper to online data. He put plenty of energy into developing Floricode, but that provided him plenty of energy, too, Henk concluded.
