In April 2021, Beyond Chrysant decided to start working with the GreenMaster software. At the time, owner Wouter Duijvesteijn started working behind the PC himself and noticed that work could be done more efficiently and, above all, more simply. Together with a small group of growers, they looked for solutions. GreenMaster came along, and this program matched the requirements. "For us, GreenMaster is a flexible program without any fuss," says the company. Below, the software company talks to Wouter about the use and applications of the package.
What role does our software play in your business?
Wouter: "So we do everything ourselves. The software gives us a bit of freedom. It is a flexible program with no fuss! It works well, simply and reliably. Reliability is important, it is a piece of the core of our business. Sometimes, it might be too simple, but rather too simple than too complex. One of our colleagues has worked with us for 25 years and uses GreenMaster daily. He is not a fan of computers but can work with them just fine. That is important. We have a great working relationship.
GreenMaster is a good match for Beyond. Of course, we have wished to expand the cooperation further. Think of logistics and wishes for the webshop. I think logistics is poorly organized in the Netherlands at the moment. There are too few people and the costs are rising considerably. Especially at a time when we are going to distribute more and more delicately. So I think there's quite a role there for software connecting with the bigger parties and making sure that's in line."
Where is the focus for your nursery?
"We try to focus on the top end of the market. The best and better florist. We try to create the best possible position. I feel that the market in the Netherlands is declining a bit, and production abroad is growing, so it will be an interesting time. We have experienced in recent years that the market is growing and production is lagging behind. That was favorable for us. What the future holds, we don't know, of course. If I look at the number of branches, the production in the world is going to increase considerably. The Netherlands remains fairly stable, so then the question remains how we as a Dutch company can keep the position strict."
What does the future look like for Beyond Chrysant?
"We have three brands that have a clear position in the market. We would like to expand that position further."
