Already very present on the African continent, particularly in Kenya, UV RER is now looking across the Atlantic to offer its UV treatment solutions on the South American market. At the IFTF in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands, that took place earlier this month, Ecuadorian and Colombian growers already showed their interest in equipping their production sites with these UV treatment products. “They were very interested in recycling and disinfecting fertilizer and conservation liquids to save money, and botrytis effective solution in cold rooms and flower buds through UV-C solution by UV RER,” says Julio Asencio, Export Manager.
Julio Asencio with Leonardo Diaz, UV representative for Ecuador and Colombia, at the IFTF.
For more than 40 years, the France-based UV RER is equipping farms with their ultraviolet technology. “ We have become a specialist in killing bacteria and fungus with UV light without using a chemical liquid. In Africa, and particularly Kenya, many flower farms are already using our fluids and surface treatment devices that are proudly made in France.”

Developing their business and allowing more growers to optimize their production by making multiple savings is one of their main growth objectives, explains Asencio. Therefore, they are very pleased to see the high interest from the Ecuadorian and Colombian growers when they were exhibiting at the IFTF.
“We welcomed customers, prospects, and partners at our stand to discuss market development and explanations of our UV-C technology for the post-harvest and before packaging flowers disinfection, the treatment and recycling of water, nutrient and conservation solutions or even the air purification in cold rooms. Our presence at IFTF also allowed us to come into contact with these new markets and to hold fruitful discussions, presaging future collaborations with many growers wishing to equip their production sites with a technology of the future that has already been proven in their market.
