Since 4 January, there has been significant coverage of the Horticultural Trade Association's (HTA's) concerns regarding post-Brexit border checks and the readiness of the new Border Target Operating Model. This coverage follows the HTA's regular engagement with the Financial Times and colleagues in the Netherlands, specifically with trade associations VGB and Royal Anthos. In the articles, the Dutch Association of Wholesalers in Floricultural Products (VGB) has called for a delay in introducing border checks until 2025, which they issued in a letter to the UK government. Our Chairman, James Barnes, was also quoted highlighting the rising complexity of the steps needed to import products since Brexit.
