Guten Morgen, guten Morgen, guten Morgen, Sonnenschein. While dancing, the WPS team started day four of IPM Essen on a positive note with the sounds of the well-known song by Nana Mouskiri.
So, today is the last day of the IPM Essen. A special edition as the trade show celebrated its 40th anniversary. The vibes on the showfloor have been good, and exhibitors seem to have been pleased with the visits so far. If it will break records, it remains to be seen, but we heard many positive reactions.
What was on display? A lot. For the introduction of new varieties, the IPM Essen is not the show to, as most breeders will do that during the FlowerTrials in June. But still, new varieties and other products were launched and on display. In general, we continue seeing innovations regarding more sustainable products and plants, so plants that require less energy to grow. Also, more durable and recycled products are highlighted, and we also heard that there is a demand for smaller plants. Several exhibitors told us that the smaller plants increased in demand as they need less space, so they are very suitable for balconies. And, not to forget, smaller plants often have a lower price. The demand for small Christmas trees, for example, boosted over the last few years.
Of course, there was much more on display, which you will get a good impression of when we publish our photo report on Monday, January 29. Did you miss our reporters this week? No worries, feel free to send in your picture, and then we make sure that it will be added to our photo report.
