New gerberas
Starting with their own breeding line of gerberas, Dr. Bhagyashree Patil is very enthusiastic. "We are the first in floriculture to have our own breeding line to breed the best in Gerbera varieties in India." They introduced seven new varieties of gerberas, with "each of them reflecting trending colors in yellow, red, white, and pink." They conducted trials across diverse locations in India, which have garnered positive feedback from growers. "This is paving the way for imminent entry into commercial export markets, she continues.
Continuous expansion of assortment
Over the years, Rise n' Shine created an extensive assortment and currently is an alliance partner for the production of different crop varieties like gerbera, carnation, orchid, chrysanthemum, limonium, anthurium, spathiphyllum, gypsophila, bromeliad etc. Over the years, they have also increased the number of partnerships, and recently, they partnered with Royal Van Zanten for their chrysanthemums. "Another milestone for us."
In response to market demands, Rise n' Shine introduces the Rise N' Shine Hydrangea Plants. "They have garnered remarkable success in grower fields. And the upcoming introduction of Lisianthus further underscores the company's commitment to diversification", she adds.
Tissue culture laboratory investments
Their large range of ornamental plants are cultivated within their high-tech tissue culture laboratory. And last year, they even increased the manufacturing capacity and infrastructure. Currently, the laboratory spans 26,000 square meters with a production capacity of more than 45 million plants per annum.
Combating the challenges
While celebrating successes, Rise n' Shine remains cognizant of challenges, particularly the prevalence of Artificial Plastic flowers in the Indian floriculture sector. The company, in collaboration with governing bodies, is actively working towards a complete ban on artificial/plastic flowers, conducting awareness programs to promote the use of natural flowers produced by local farmers.

"Positioned as a one-stop solution for tissue culture plants, we believe in fostering grower and farmer success for mutual satisfaction." Last year and already this year, they made the first steps by debuting at two large trade shows, namely the IFTF in the Netherlands and the IPM Essen in Germany. "At those shows, we are humbled by the overwhelming response received, with numerous potential clients expressing interest in collaboration.
