From March 5-7, 4MT will be present at Horticontact, showcasing the IRISS Hortensia sorter and IRISS Hortensia mobile. Additionally, they will present the 4MT Buffer station, which is nominated for the Horticontact Innovation Award.
The 4MT Buffer station was developed in close collaboration with the customer. They encountered a problem processing small quantities of various sorted roses each day. A separate bunching station was used for each sorting, operating at only a fraction of its capacity per day. Moreover, it took a long time for the roses to be placed in water, as 10 roses are needed to form a bunch, but a bunching station buffers 3 bunches before ejecting one. As a solution to this problem, 4MT developed the 4MT Buffer station.
The 4MT Buffer station can buffer, depending on the rose bud size and station length, 30-40 roses. Once the station is full, an alarm sounds, and the roses are manually bunched. Manual bunching means that bunches can be formed much quicker, ensuring the roses are placed in water faster. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for an extra quality check for these often more expensive varieties of roses without the need to dismantle an entire bunch.
The 4MT Buffer station makes it possible to process three times as many varieties on the surface area of one bunching station. By replacing one bunching station with three 4MT Buffer stations, two additional varieties can be accommodated. The 4MT Buffer station can also be added alongside existing bunching stations. With the modular system, users have control over how many additional varieties they can handle.
You can find 4MT at booth H144.
