"If Westlanders are truly proud of their greenhouses, they should work in them themselves"

Almost every day, there's some discussion about the future of horticulture in The Netherlands. Nieuwsuur contributed to the conversation with an article titled 'Increasing concerns over greenhouses with migrant workers: does the sector have a future?' The article features, among others, Versnel (Rotterdam councilor), Raymond Vijverberg (plant grower), Bouke Arends (mayor of Westland, The Netherlands), and Jaap van Duijn (economist). According to the latter, Westlanders should work in their greenhouses if they are truly proud of them. "However, this is not for those who prefer a job that lets you have Friday afternoons off and a company car.
