How was Valentine's Day 2024?

What was 2024's Valentine's season like? According to a survey conducted by US floral software provider Floranext, more than 50% of the surveyed florists report that red roses were their most sold product in 2024. Second were mixed flowers with 43,36%. On average, a dozen long stem roses cost $106 on Valentine's Day.

Floranext surveyed florists between February 10 and February 21 and shared the results on February 23. Most of these florists are from the US (79.69%) and Canada (14.84%), in addition, 5,47% of the responses come from international florists.

According to the results, approximately 20% of the surveyed florists feel happy after this year's Valentine's Day, while others felt relieved (19,9%), content (19,1%), proud (16,4%), tired (14,1%) or frustrated (10,2%).

In 2024's season, floral orders were mostly made via the telephone (50,39%) or websites (32,42%).
However, florists felt no need to shut off their web orders in the build-up to Valentine's Day. Most orders arrived in early February (36,33%), followed by mid-January orders (28,13%).

Further, the survey points out that nearly 60% of florists advertised on Facebook, with Instagram coming second as an advertising medium with 32,8%. Additionally, around 50% of the florists used email marketing.
