Flower market dynamics ahead of International Women's Day in Ukraine

The demand for flowers in Ukraine is rapidly increasing in anticipation of the Women's holiday. The closure of borders and complications in flower imports from other countries have led to significant changes in prices within the Ukrainian flower market.

Experts claim that transportation delays from other countries have resulted in spoiling goods. Moisture and inadequate storage conditions during transportation contribute to a loss of quality, impacting prices.

The market offers flowers from both local production and imports from countries like the Netherlands, Peru, and Ecuador. Prices vary depending on various factors, including country of origin, quality, and size of the flowers.

The most popular classic tulips are priced at 1 euro each, while peony-style tulips are priced at 1.2 euro each. Carnations cost 0.6 euros each. Mimosa are sold by weight for 3.6 euros per 100 grams.

A pot of tulips and crocuses costs approximately 3.6 euros, while daffodils can be purchased for around 2.4 euros. Cyclamen and azalea are priced at 6 euros, and Kalanchoe at 4.8 euros.

Prices for roses also vary depending on their type and origin: bush roses may cost 2.87 euros, Dutch roses range from 1 to 2.4 euros, and the most expensive ones from Ecuador are priced at 2.9-3.6 euros. Orchids are sold for 15 euros.

Flower boxes start at 3.6 euros and can go up to 24 euros. Chrysanthemums are available from 1.7 to 2.6 euros, irises from 1 euro, and hydrangeas can cost from 16.8 euros per bouquet.

Despite the price increase compared to the previous year, the variety of flower options remains diverse, and buyers can still find bouquets to suit any taste and budget.
