Last week, Dianthus Week took place in Colombia, where nine breeders demonstrated the progress that they achieved in breeding. The event took place, with the support of Asocolflores, in the Bogotá Savanna, where they welcomed growers and buyers from many countries.
The dianthus is an important crop for many Colombian growers, and the main export market for these species is the United States, with 40% participation in volume, followed by Japan with 15%, Holland with 12%, Poland with 5%, and Spain with 5%.
From March 11 to 15, visitors from different countries found their way to the so-called "Open House" sites.
The breeders and hosts of the "Dianthus Week 2024" were Ball, Selecta One, BreierCross, Danziger, Dümmen Orange, HilverdaFlorist Colombia, Propagar Plantas, Santamaría, and SB Talee de Colombia.
