Packaging company Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group has made significant progress in sustainability over the past year. Today, they launched the Sustainability Report 2023.
Lyanne Paardekooper, Chief Marketing Officer and fourth generation in the family business emphasizes the importance of these efforts: "Every day, I make conscious choices in my life, but I realize that the impact I make as an individual is much smaller than my influence as an entrepreneur. That's why I, together with our organization, am taking concrete steps towards a more sustainable future."
The Sustainability Report 2023 reveals the ongoing commitment of the Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group to reduce its ecological footprint and provides insight into the concrete measures the company has taken to achieve these goals.
Some highlights of the report are:
- A double materiality analysis was conducted in anticipation of new CSRD legislation.
- Refinement of the organization's CO2 footprint calculation and developing a reduction plan to achieve the set goals.
- Implementation of a Product Information Management system (PIM) to steer towards the sustainability of the assortment.
- Expansion of the number of circular solutions offered to customers.
- An active policy on BSCI, resulting in 89% of suppliers in risk countries being affiliated.
The Royal Dutch Paardekooper Group has also established concrete objectives to further reduce its impact, including aiming to have 95% of its paper FSC-certified by the end of 2025 and reducing CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 2022.
