NL: Sunshine for the anniversary edition of Westland Varend Corso

The anniversary edition of the Westland Varend Corso had a brilliant weekend. Hundreds of thousands of spectators enjoyed the beautifully decorated parade for three days. On a sunny Sunday evening, the 25th Varend Corso sailed back into their home port at FloraHolland.

3D next level won the 1st prize in the Commercial Boats category, and was also awarded the Buitelaar Innovation Prize

The Titanic of 's-Gravenzande won the audience award. The spectators were keen to help decide; no fewer than 11,000 votes were cast. A separate audience award was created for the children's parade. That went to the Hofvilla who sailed along with Herrie in de Keuken.

Performance award for Titanic
The 's-Gravenzande floats were also awarded the performance prize. Every day, they portrayed a different scene from the famous Titanic film. On Sunday, the audience saw how the ship broke in two and how Jack even hit the water in Delft. The second prize went to the Wateringse corsoboot, which had Hans and Gretel as its theme. The third place was for Tea Party from Kwintsheul.

This year, the organization awarded a special appreciation prize, which went to Danscreatie. The dancers performed for three days on the Naaldwijk zeilende Westlander. Argos received the encouragement prize, thanks to their use of materials. The Buitelaar Innovation Award went to 3D Next Level, who had their 3D printers working overtime for the sailing Minion factory. The Johan Huisman Binders prize was presented to Juanita van Dooremaal.

The children of the Hofvilla won the audience award at the Jeugdcorso

Blooming Battle
This year, too, various Dutch schools (MBOs) competed against each other in the Blooming Battle. The first prize was won by MBO Westland's entry Lollypopland. Candy Shop from Scalda MBO Goes took second place. The third place in the Blooming Battle went to Cocktailbar from MBO Westland.

Corsoboot 's-Gravenzande won two prizes: The Performance prize and the Audience Award. Jack even dove into the river Schie.

Argos
This year, Argos had the honor of taking part in the 25th edition of the Varend Corso in the Westland. Argos' preparations began several months ago with a restored, 120-year-old Westland barge. After designing, preparing and building, last weekend, the boat was ready to sail. For three days, the 'Smakelijk Verpakt' boat sailed past thousands of enthusiastic spectators who stood along the shore encouraging all the boats.

On Saturday Argos employees and their family and friends admired the Argos boat and all the other boats while enjoying snacks, drinks, and the sun. On Sunday it was announced that Argos was awarded the Best Decor prize for newcomers.
