Last Saturday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese visited JD Propagation, making a connection between their impressive output and the upcoming tax cuts for nearly 14 million Australians. Local MP Cassandra Fernando also addressed the team, highlighting the significant impact of tax reductions that were put into force.
Established in 2009, JD Propagation is a family-owned wholesale propagation nursery located in Pearcedale on the Mornington Peninsula. What began with Jen and Dan has blossomed into a substantial greenhouse operation.
"A small business evolving into a larger enterprise, JD Propagation employs 55 permanent staff, increasing to 80 during peak seasons. It plays a crucial role in the local economy of Melbourne's southeastern suburbs, producing approximately 14 million plants annually," remarked the PM.
Yesterday, Australia witnessed an increase in minimum and award wages, rising by 3.75% to $24.10 per hour. According to the PM, substantial tax cuts will also take effect.
Local MP Cassandra Fernando engaged with JD Propagation employees about the positive impact of these tax cuts: "Our focus remains on reducing taxes, boosting wages, and easing the cost of living for families, ensuring an economy where every Australian can thrive."
