NL: The flowers were put out at Flower Parade Rijnsburg

"Where do all these flowers come from, daddy?" one child asked, looking at the many carts passing by. "Those come from the greenhouse and from the land," replies the father. Not only children, but adults too were amazed by the richly decorated vehicles that passed by during the 77th Flower Parade Rijnsburg.

Many spectators watched as the parade drove through the streets of Rijnsburg, Katwijk and Noordwijk on Saturday 10 August. Some 70 cars and floats participated in the parade. A wide range of flowers, plants and even vegetables had been processed by the arrangers on the floats and cars. Some 300,000 flowers were used for the cars and floats. Among others, cars from Madiba, De Looff Lily-Innovation, Decorum and a truck from the Royal van der Slot group passed by. Royal FloraHolland, Flower Trade Group, My Peony Society and One Flora Group also entered floats.

The theme this year was 'Typical Holland'. So there was a barrel organ, a pancakes stall, tulips and Formula One float. There were also four waving queens on a float, themed 'Royal Family' and a typical image of the Amsterdam canals.

Royal van der Slot group featured the theme "Beer".
