NL: Aquasol Solar breaks through solar energy efficiency ceiling: 15% more output

Aquasol Solar (zonopwaterbassin.nl) and solar panel manufacturer Aiko initiated a special collaboration this year, focusing on floating solar power systems for water basins in the horticulture sector and water storage systems in other industries. The partnership has already proven to be successful.

For many years, solar panel efficiency in the Netherlands was calculated with an efficiency factor of 0.85-0.90 at 950 full-load hours. However, Aquasol Solar has managed to surpass this standard significantly, achieving an impressive efficiency factor of 1.03 kWh/Wp, according to Willem Verwoerd.

"This means that our floating solar systems generate nearly 15% more energy over the same period compared to other systems. This is due to Aiko's solar panels, which offer unparalleled efficiency and yield thanks to All Back Contact (ABC) technology and the unique Partial Shading Technology. When combined with our flexible floating system and the unique Aquasol Solar design, featuring the Genap/ZOW anchoring system, it's clear that we provide the highest efficiency for any water basin," Verwoerd explains.

Willem invites interested parties to request a no-obligation quote, which can include large-scale battery storage options ranging from 200 KWh to 4.5 MW of storage capacity.

Aquasol Solar/Zon op Waterbassin will be present at the Canadian Greenhouse Conference at the Genap Canada booth (412). The exhibition will take place on October 9 and 10.
