US (OH): Cincinnati Breeder Showcase and Trials

EHR and Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens welcome back the Annual Breeder Showcase for its second year. The Breeder Showcase & Trials will be held on the 24th of August, 2024. EHR specializes in consulting and brokerage services for retail garden center growers, wholesale greenhouse growers, nursery professionals, and landscapers.

With the support of EHR and over 40 sponsors, the Breeder Showcase highlights the summer performance of plants inside and around the zoo. An additional stop at the Rockdale Urban Learning Center gardens gives visitors a peek at one of their grow sites and the zoo's efforts to connect plants with the local community. New this year, attendees end the day at a tradeshow with zoo staff, plant breeders, vendors, as well as a sneak peek into the CZBG's new exhibit: Elephant Trek.

Last year's event highlighted a range of over 500 plant genetics and this year holds a similar vast display. Through EHR's collaboration with breeders and vendors and CZBG's selection process, attendees can expect a blend of new and past plant introductions. These trials act as a summer comparison of what will perform best for a season-long performance.

CZBG's trial stands will also be visible to zoo visitors all summer long. The garden beds are open to stroll through from the parking lots to the African Safari, all throughout the landscape. Last year, the event attracted over 300 plant enthusiasts and captivated over one million zoo-goers throughout the season, establishing CZBG as a hub for both breeders and end-consumers.
