The greenhouse is a ‘solar oven’

Fitchburg Farms had to limit their afternoon hours because of extreme heat until Wednesday. "With all the glass walls and like the roof and everything, it just ends up being kind of a solar oven," said general manager of Fitchburg Farms, Alesha Rodriguez.

This is the first time this summer that Fitchburg Farms has to close "the oven" during regular hours because of the baking heat.

"Sometimes customers don't realize how hot it gets in here, and then they get caught off guard," said Rodriguez.To keep people safe, the business is closed during peak temperature hours, and its adjusting workflow as well.
