Dutch contractor company De 3 Koningen B.V. has purchased a new rod/moss sprayer for this autumn to clean greenhouse roofs even more thoroughly and efficiently. With this investment in their machinery, the Steenbergen-based company seeks to respond to the increasing demand for automated solutions within the sector.
Barry van Leeuwen, co-owner of De 3 Koningen B.V., explains: "We are increasingly seeing moss growth on the rods of the greenhouses we clean. Removing moss manually with various tools is time-consuming, and also carries an increased risk of damage and leaks. Our new rod/moss sprayer offers the perfect solution to this challenge. With this investment, we aim to serve our customers optimally and further increase the quality of our services."
Less moss growth, fewer leaks
The new rods/moss sprayer, developed by Van der Waaij Machinebouw from Hazerswoude, uses a powerful spray technique that effectively removes moss and dirt from the rods. The greenhouse roof is then washed with the greenhouse roof cleaner, resulting in a crystal-clear and clean surface, says Barry. "This innovative technique not only ensures thorough cleaning, but also reduces the risk of moss growth on the inside of the greenhouse and significantly reduces the risk of leaks. This contributes to a longer greenhouse life and maintains a healthy greenhouse climate, free of fungi and diseases."
