NL: Leen Middelburg Chrysanten appoints Perry Dekkers as new CEO

Leen Middelburg Chrysanten (LMC) announces that Perry Dekkers will become the company's new CEO on 1 October 2024. With this appointment, LMC seeks to strengthen its organization and prepare for the next phase in realizing its goals.

Over the past year, LMC's management has worked to develop its Vision 2030. One of the main pillars of Vision 2030 is to expand the company's position in the chrysanthemum market. Both by expanding the acreage - an additional 15 hectares will be added in Made (the Netherlands) in the coming years - and by making substantial investments in sustainable cultivation. Moreover, LMC explores international production opportunities.

LMC's management team will continue to consist of Sander Middelburg (COO), Barry Middelburg (CSO), Leo Middelburg (co-founder), and Martien Middelburg (co-founder). Both co-founders will focus on support tasks and guarding the company's DNA. Operational management will be left to the other three executives.

Perry will be responsible for the overall management of the organization, securing strategic plans, commerce, business development, finance, and various other support activities. Sander and Barry Middelburg remain responsible for cultivation, operations, energy, sustainability, IT/digitization, innovations, and managing the locations. Barry is also coordinating the new 15-hectare development in Made, the Netherlands.

Perry Dekkers, the son of a chrysanthemum grower, has gained experience in various roles at FloraHolland, Heineken, Dümmen Orange, and most recently at Growers United where he served as CCO for the past five years. Leo Middelburg, one of LMC's co-founders, says: "Perry brings valuable experience, knowledge, and expertise. I am confident that he will contribute to the continuity and growth of our wonderful company."

Perry Dekkers added: "LMC has a solid foundation and great ambitions. The entrepreneurial mentality and the passion to strive for the best have great appeal to me. I am looking forward to working with my fellow board members to realize LMC's ambitions."
