CAN (BC): Sunflower festival blooms into life

The fourth annual sunflower festival in the North Okanagan is underway and there are four acres of big, bright sunflowers to wander through.

The Bloom Flower Festival festival is run by Alexis and Marc Szarek, who are also known for a tulip festival in the spring, the only tulip festival in the Okanagan.

Festival goers can take photographs, enjoy food and drinks onsite or even order a package from a local eatery for a stunning outdoor picnic experience.

"There's a giant field full of flowers but you're not just showing up to stare at flowers, it's more than that, it's an immersive experience," said Kamloops resident Jennifer Jones who went to the festival. "There are little photo opportunities around every corner, an antique bathtub, a piano, a giant chair, it's a photographer's dream."
