BRM-tec, a new name in the world of industrial automation for the cut flower industry, has emerged from Jamafa Machinery. The company is led by Bas Raemakers, who began his career at Jamafa.
From Jamafa to BRM-tec
For decades, Jamafa Machinery has been a supplier of machines for the cut flower industry, offering a range of products from sorting machines to processing systems.
In this environment, BRM-tec was born. The young engineer behind the company was once employed at Jamafa and wanted to go beyond the existing boundaries of industrial automation. Mindful of market needs and technological possibilities, he decided to take a new direction. Bas Raemakers aims not only to continue Jamafa's traditions but also to advance with innovations, as he explains.
Automation solutions
BRM-tec aims to focus on providing advanced and customized automation solutions for the cut flower industry. Some of Bas' key focus areas include:
- Robotics: Integration of robots to increase precision and efficiency in flower sorting and bunching.
- AI and machine learning: "In the future, implementation of AI technologies for quality control and maintenance will play an increasing role, making machines self-learning and adaptive."
- IoT connectivity: Development of smart machines connected to the 'Internet of Things', enabling real-time monitoring and data analysis.
Efficient and Customer-Oriented
Bas Raemakers explains, "The new generation of machines is designed to be more energy-efficient and produce less waste. Additionally, we aim for modular designs that are easy to maintain and adapt, which extends the lifespan of the machines and lowers total ownership costs. BRM-tec offers not only a range of standard machines but also customized solutions and comprehensive support tailored to the needs and challenges of our customers. This includes everything from design and implementation to training and after-sales service."
Projects
"Over the past few years, we have completed several projects for various companies in the flower and plant industry, as well as other sectors," Bas continues. "These include work and packing stations, pre-processing units (as shown below), internal transport systems for disposing of green waste, sorting and bundling machines for flowers, and transport and sorting systems. In addition to building new customized machines and offering our standard products, we also can modify and adapt existing Jamafa machines to meet customer specifications. We supply parts and provide maintenance and repair services for existing Jamafa machines."
"We want to build upon the legacy of Jamafa Machinery while embracing new technologies and ideas. We hope to make an impact with our new machines and meet the changing needs of the market. We are optimistic about the future," Bas concludes.
