Ed de Groot, 247flower.online, about exhibiting at Iberflora

“This event is the ideal opportunity to connect with importing wholesalers from around the globe”

Today, the 53th edition of the Iberflora trade show kicked off. The trade fair for plants and flowers, landscaping technology, and DIY gardening is once again a meeting place for the international green industry. The fair, which is hosted by Feria Valencia, takes place at the Feria de Valencian venue in Valencia (Spain) from 1 to 3 October.

For three days, industry professionals will explore some of the latest developments, trends, products, and technologies on display. According to the Iberflora website, 74 % of the exhibitors are from Spain and 26 % from other countries. Among these non-Spanish exhibitors is Ed de Groot, owner of online sourcing platform 247flowers.online. He shares some photos and experiences with us.

Travelling the world to connect with importing wholesalers
This year, 247flowers.online is exhibiting at the Iberflora for the first time. According to de Groot, they decided to exhibit because of the Iberflora's international character and the many potential customers that they can reach at this event. "We already have some existing customers in Spain, this event is the ideal opportunity to connect with importing wholesalers from around the globe." De Groot is travelling the world to meet existing and potential users of his platform. Recently, he exhibited at trade shows such as Myplant & Garden, IPM Essen, Astana Flora Expo, and IFTF Vijfhuizen.

So far, de Groot is positive about the Iberflora, saying: "We received many visitors at our stand. They showed a lot of interest in the story of 247flowers.online." At 247flowers.online they seek to source flowers and plants more efficiently through digitalization. "Flowers and plants can be delivered with fewer intermediaries and logistic handling by shortening the supply chain. This reduces costs, and the products remain fresher. At 247flowers.online, more than 2000 growers are connected directly to international wholesales, without traders and without keeping stock. Prices shown on our platform are transparent and direct from the grower without the blur of added commissions," de Groot explains. He also highlights that he's 24/7 available for the platform users. "We provide that personal touch."

Further de Groot observed quite some attention for specialty products at the fair. "At our stand we have some special hydrangeas and roses, as well as peonies while it's not the peony season. These are not your average products, there is always interest in this kind of luxury items."

Dutch presence at Iberflora
247flowers.online exhibits as part of the Holland Pavilion. De Groot mentions that exhibitors of the Holland Pavilion received organizational support from GREENN, an organization that specializes in the organization of trade fairs and events.

The Holland Pavilion at Iberflora includes the stands of Deroose Plants Group, Gebr. Valstar, and Muller Seeds. An impression of the pavilion can be found below:
