The construction of Ronico's energy-efficient tulip greenhouse in Hem is in full swing. This new greenhouse is now at an advanced stage and on track for completion in December this year.
Demolition and new construction
The demolition of the old greenhouse began in April. First, the left half was demolished, then the right half was also demolished to make way for the new greenhouse. No fewer than 1361 piles were used for the foundations.
Smart infrastructure
An important aspect of the construction is greenhouse layout. The heating and cooling pipes are laid underground as much as possible, aiming to minimize the number of pipes above ground. "This ensures overview, space, and an improvement in future work processes."
Technical installations and screen cloths
The technical installations will be added in the coming weeks. The double-screen clothhas already been installed. The greenhouse will also be equipped with a roller container system, which should enable double cultivation layers and the optimal usage of cultivation space. According to Ronico, this system is a key aspect of growing more efficently.
"The new greenhouse will have five sections, all equipped with the latest cultivation and processing technologies. The ambition is to make the greenhouse completely energy-neutral in the future."
On schedule for December
The construction of the new greenhouse is in line with Ronico's strategy to strengthen its position as a tulip producer. His approach focuses on being more efficient, sustainable, and customer-oriented than the year before. Construction is on schedule, and Ronico expects the tulip greenhouse to be fully operational by 1 December 2024.
