Positive vibes and business talk at Expo Flor Ecuador

After the inauguration ceremony on October 8, the third edition of the Expo Flor Ecuador took off at the Metropolitan Convention Center in Quito. Yesterday, the second day of this three-day event, many visitors came to see what the 126 exhibitors had on display.

Positive vibes, roses and more
So far, visitors were positive about the trade show and the way it developed in the past few years. They highlighted that Expo Flor Ecuador has expanded, and attracts the right companies and visitors. Wafex and Florisol were among the 126 exhibitors.

This year, the fair again gathers many rose breeding companies in one place among which De Ruiter Ecuador.

VIP visitors got the chance to get a guided tour by Aviram Krell at the Plantec Farm. During the tour they learned more about rose breeding and the Plantec varieties.

Nevertheless, the trade show is not all about roses, there's also attention for other flowers such as gypsophilia, ranunculus, and alstroemeria.

Business talk
There was also a lot of business talk going on. Ecuadorian Quality Roses (EQR), for instance, shared that they are shifting their business activities from the US towards Europe. Besides roses, the company also produces other summer flowers.

And one of the few visitors from the Middle East, Sulaiman Aloqaibi (United Flower) is in Quito to see if he can get flowers from Ecuador to Saudi Arabia."Due to online flower sales, many florists now need year-round available flowers. We saw that demand for Dutch flowers such as cymbidium decreased by 60%, as they can't be produced all year-round in the Netherlands."
