The greenhouse that stood at the Floriade Expo in Almere has been given a new use. In Barneveld, where the greenhouse now stands, it also received a new double climate screen installation. The Midden Nederland Hallen now uses the special, high greenhouse.
The greenhouse is up to 14 metres high
After dismantling the greenhouses, they were rebuilt in Barneveld. A challenging operation in where SchermNed was commissioned to realize a climate solution using both old and new materials, with Raymond Mauritz of Reytec as the builder of this project.
SchermNed supplied dual climate and screen installations for the event greenhouse, event hall and restaurant, accounting for a total area of 4140 square metres. The screen installations ensure precise climate control in each individual room, which also provides the necessary energy savings and acoustics.
Event location
The Midden Nederland Hallen is anevent location for informal conferences, stylish dinners and festive drinks. The largest hall is up to 14 metres high. Light streams in through the glass facades, but to ensure visitor comfort, a good indoor climate is essential. SchermNed's double climate screens offer just that: customized temperature control, where each room can be optimized individually, regardless of the season.
Owner Jack van der Voort explains: "Working with the relocated greenhouses of the Floriade was a special challenge, because in addition to greenhouse construction projects, these types of projects, in which craftsmanship and innovation come together, are what SchermNed stands for. We are always looking for collaborations and technical solutions where the comfort of a space benefits and this collaboration with MNH and Reytec is a great example."
