From 19 - 27 October, Orchids Info and Aptum will present the exhibition 'In Full Bloom' during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. Aptum has created artworks especially for the event that highlight the versatility of orchids. The result is a floral wall full of illuminated geometric shapes and suspended sculptural light objects carrying orchids. During Dutch Design Week, this collaborative creation will be unveiled for the first time.
Fusion of flora and light
With their elegant shapes and graceful flowers, orchids are the perfect addition to the world of design. For years, plants have been a part of Masterly - the stage for Dutch design during Milan Design Week. At this event, Aptum and Orchids Info discovered a shared passion for vibrant, bright colors and expressive patterns and shapes. This mutual fascination led to a natural cross-pollination, in which flora and light merge in a special way.
'Nicole Uniquole' orchid
In the exhibition 'In Full Bloom', orchid flowers and Aptum's light installations come together in a show. One of the installations focuses on a special orchid; the 'Nicole Uniquole' orchid - specially named after Masterly's initiator. Uniquole, an established name in the design world as a curator, art director, and brand builder is honored by Aptum and Orchids Info with this presentation, as a tribute to the beginning of their collaboration.
Beauty that lasts
As one of the largest and most diverse plant families in the world, orchids bring a constant source of inspiration and continue to bloom elegantly for weeks on end, year after year. Because of orchids' long flowering period, the illuminated sculptures will be on display in Aptum's studio well beyond Dutch Design Week, and the beauty of light and flowering plants can be admired for even longer.
