Over 200 participants have pre-registered to attend "Thai – Dutch Floriculture Forum 2024; Envision Innovation for Sustainable Floriculture Industry" this coming Thursday 24th October 2024 (08:00 – 16:00) in Bangkok. The Forum is jointly organized by the Netherlands Embassy in Bangkok in collaboration with National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT).
Producing under innovative greenhouse technology (Controlled Environment Agriculture or CEA), supported by an efficient logistics facility, enables the Netherlands' floriculture sector to export high-quality flowers to the global market. With the rich diversity of tropical plants, especially tropical orchids, the floriculture sector in Thailand plays a thriving socio-economic role in the Kingdom's agriculture. Flowers are used in religious ceremonies and various cultural festivals.
The challenge for the Thai floriculture sector is the unpredictable climate, along with the need for an innovative and sustainable floriculture industry (new varieties, productivity, and post-harvest techniques, for instance).
Pre-registration for virtual participation in the "Thai – Dutch Floriculture Forum 2024" is now open. You can register at the link here.
