Roses Forever launches new orange pot-rose

“It stands out for its rich orange color, compact size, and impressive longevity”

Roses Forever launches a new creation, the Princess of Orange Infinity rose. The new, orange variety is the latest addition to the Infinity series, which entered the market in 2012. "Bright orange was missing in the Infinity range, we're glad that we can now expand our assortment with another eye-catching color. Growers are always looking for these vibrant hues," says Rosa Eskelund, rose breeder at Roses Forever. In this article she discusses in more detail what makes this rose special.

Princess of Orange Infinity

First of all, she highlights that it's a challenge to breed a strong, orange rose. "It's quite difficult compared to breeding rose and pink varieties because roses naturally come in these colors. It took us quite long to create this orange one, we have worked on it since the first two Infinity roses were introduced."

Yet, Rosa is clearly proud of the result, saying: "The Princess of Orange Infinity rose stands out for its rich orange color, compact size, and impressive longevity, making it an ideal choice for both indoor and smaller gardens. Like the other Infinity roses, this variety is both aesthetically appealing and easy to grow in only 9-10 weeks time." At Roses Forever, they expect that the Princess of Orange Infinity will be popular all around the world, but first in Europe and Asia because most of their licensed roses are currently being grown in those regions.

Even though this orange expanded the Infinity pot-roses assortment to include 8 colors (orange, white, rose, pink, salmon, Bordeaux red, yellow and cherry), the series is not yet complete. "We are now working on clear reds, and a bicolor Infinity rose. Moreover, we always seek to shorten the cultivation time and to optimize the durability of the flowers.

Pink Infinity, White Infinity, Princess of Infinity (rose) and King of Infinity (bordeaux red)

Yellow Infinity, Queen of Infinity (salmon), and Cherry Infinity

IFTF
Roses forever will present the Princess of Orange Infinity at the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF), which takes place from 5-7 November in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands. Rosa: "As the IFTF is one of the leading global events in floriculture, it provides the perfect platform to unveil this new rose." Visitors who will attend the trade show have the opportunity to meet Rosa and her team, get more information on the variety and a license to grow at stand B2.24.
