Tafe Tractors unveiled its new range of low horsepower tractors at Eima

Implementing the use of electric tractors both in greenhouses and in the field

The tractors in this range have between 20 and 75 horsepower, making them ideal for use in greenhouses and orchards. The tractors are designed with a straightforward, minimalist approach, featuring a limited number of electronic components. The new electric tractor has been designed from scratch, rather than adapted from an existing model. Tafe Tractors presented at Eima its line of 'light' tractors, which are well-suited to Italian horticulture.

The new EV28 electric tractor will be available from 2025

Massimo Ribaldone, head of technology innovation at Tafe: "We have designed an electric tractor with 28 horsepower, the EV 28, for greenhouse cultivation. It incorporates cutting-edge technology in a straightforward, user-friendly design. As with all our machines, we have engineered it to perform reliably and efficiently in challenging conditions."

With annual sales in excess of 200,000, the company is seeking to expand its European and Italian market presence, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sector.

"The new electric model offers a runtime of four to eight hours, dependent on operational specifications, and can also be rapidly recharged in just one hour. Our company has the exclusive distributorship of our tractors in the Italian market, and our customer service is both punctual and precise. We aim to raise awareness of our brand among entrepreneurs, technicians and farmers, as our vehicles offer a reliable, efficient and cost-effective solution," Ribaldone concludes.

Production of the electric tractor is scheduled to commence in 2025. A notable addition to the range is the new 45-65 horsepower compact range, which will be available with both mechanical (synchronised) and hydrostatic transmissions.
