Siflor 2024 underway in Medellín, Colombia

17 speakers from England, Israel, Brazil, and Colombia gather in Medellin on November 20th and 21st for The International Floriculture Symposium (Siflor).

According to Augusto Solano, CEO of Asocolflores, "Once again, floriculture will shine in Medellín, Colombia. With its track record, the quality of its exhibitions, and its entrepreneurial relations, Siflor represents, for those engaged in this activity, the best opportunity to remain at the forefront of science, technology, and human talent."

During the event issues such as competitiveness, sustainable flower production and entrepreneurial leadership will be discussed. "Constant change requires new tools for the leaders of the sector to face these challenges. Therefore, at Siflor, leadership will be a fundamental issue," said Solano.

Pablo Jacobsen, mindset and high-performance coach, discusses the issue of Conscious Leadership. "Colombia and the whole world are living in times of great uncertainty. Leaders need tools to confront challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the proper mindset, including the skill to give meaning to what is happening, as well as a mechanism to respond with creativity to new realities. Our minds are where inspiration dwells; this allows us to face challenges as opportunities, not as threats", are Jacobsen´s words about his conference.

During the symposium, which is held at the Tesoro Events Center in Medellín, the José María Pepe de la Torre Innovation Awards will be distributed. This recognition identifies and points out initiatives that contribute to and improve flower production. There are three award categories: technical innovation, innovation in agricultural products and services, and innovative research in floriculture.
