This month, NPI completed the lining of an excavated reservoir in Zeeland, the Netherlands. They covered the bottom and walls with more than 15,000 m² of ENPEX FPP. "From prefabrication in its factory to a smooth installation on-site, this project showcases technical expertise, teamwork, and extensive experience."
NPI's two-man welding team traveled to Zeeland to line the basin with ENPEX FPP. "This flexible, durable, and UV-resistant liner is a great choice for lining basins, ensuring a long-lasting and completely waterproof lining."
Prefabrication for precision
The liner was prefabricated in six panels at NPI's production facility. "Given the triangular shape of the reservoir, NPI's production team worked with precise measurements to create panels that would fit perfectly."
On-site installation
On-site, the liner was placed into the basin using a spreader bar. The rolls of liner wound around a core, were lifted by inserting the steel spreader bar into the core and attaching it to a crane arm with chains. "This method ensures the liner is safely and smoothly placed into position." From there, with the help of 40 assisting hands, the large panels were unrolled and unfolded across the basin.
NPI's two-man team led the unrolling and unfolding of the film and after they took charge of welding the panels together. They also installed several in-/outlets and completed the project by installing 530 meters of embankment protection.
