China: Thirty new varieties on display during Labeau Phalaenopsis open day in Shanghai

On December 4th, Deroose Plants held a Labeau Phalaenopsis open day in Shanghai. Labeau is a joint brand developed by three orchid companies: Germany's HARK, the Dutch Phalaenopsis young plant nursery Sion, and Belgium's Microflor. Deroose Plants is Labeau's exclusive partner in the Asian market.

Around 40 kinds of Phalaenopsis were showcased. Thirty of them were displayed for the first time in China. Customers from Shanghai, Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu and other provinces attended the exposition. The selection concentrated on color range, growth period, flowering time, shipping tolerance and ease of packing. According to several customers, the pink series have great potential and for that reason are likely to be high demand in the next three years. During the open day, Mr. Don Deng, Asia Pacific Sales Manager, talked about the new Phalaenopsis varieties with attendees.

Clockwise: the Faction, Cassion, and Black Magic varieties.

These new introductions complement the previews shown earlier this year at IPM Beijing in May. Phalaenopsis varieties Caribbean Dream, Nadion, Mai Tai, Strawberry Fields, Pink Clouds and Rosion first appeared there. The young plants of these lines can be ordered from 2025 onwards.
