A new orchid species from East Kalimantan, Trichoglottis Najibii, is showcased at the Floriculture Indonesia International (FLOII) Expo 2024 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten.
The Trichoglottis najibii orchid was found in the tropical rainforest of East Kalimantan at an altitude of 300-500 meters above sea level.
Its distinctive features are the lateral lobes of the orchid's labellum, which are attached to the column, and the 8-9 mm long curved cylindrical spurs, making it a truly unique orchid species. In his statement on Sunday, Yuda R. Yudistira, one of the founders of the species, stated that the species was named Trichoglottis najibii to honor the discovery.
