Renowned Indian actress and activist Rajshri Deshpande emphasized the importance of sustainable flower farming in Nagaland and assured her efforts in promoting the state's flowers in Maharashtra and beyond.
Deshpande made this commitment during her visit to the Mini Flower Market organized by the Nagaland Flower Growers Society (NFGS) at PWD Traffic Point, Kohima, in celebration of the 25th Hornbill Festival on Saturday.
Interacting with NFGS members, led by president Sungtinaro Jamir, Deshpande lauded the dedication of local women farmers, calling them "beautiful magicians" for their commitment to cultivating rare and precious flowers.She also acknowledged the challenges faced by flower growers, particularly the lack of a strong market for organically grown blooms.
