Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants

Supporting nature with African Breeze

Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants is pleased to announce that the company is once again able to make a ontribution to nature conservation in Africa. This time, the donation amounts to €9,590, raised from the sales proceeds of African Breeze products. This is the sixth time Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants has supported the Zambian Carnivore Project (ZCP), an organization dedicated to protecting African wildlife.

Under the African Breeze brand, the company offers about eight different (niche) potted plants, all of which are of African origin. Proceeds from these products contribute to the protection of African biodiversity.

Protection of wildlife in Africa
Vreugdenhil Bulbs & Plants made a conscious decision to support the Zambian Carnivore Project. "As a company, we have a strong connection with Africa, partly through our collaboration with African Amaryllis bulb growers. We see it as our responsibility to do something for the biodiversity of this beautiful continent," says Jochem Vreugdenhil. "The ZCP is a key player in carnivore conservation, with impressive results. In the past year, for instance, they tracked as many as 1,176 carnivores in three different ecosystems." The ZCP is committed to conservation through research, awareness, and education. Marjolijn Vreugdenhil: "The ZCP does a fantastic job in educating people and raising awareness of how important carnivores are in maintaining the ecosystem."

More information about the Zambian Carnivore Project and its achievements can be found on their website: www.zambiacarnivores.org or in their annual report 2023: www.zambiacarnivores.org/annual-reports.
