After two days, the 55th edition of the Mid-Atlantic Nursery Trade Show (MANTS) will come to a close today, Friday January 10. So, there's one more day left to connect with industry partners and explore what's on offer at the Baltimore Convention Centre. So far, it seems that the vibes are good with plenty of opportunities to do business. Yesterday, we already shared an impression of some exhibitors and their booths. Today we share another one, which includes some plants that have drawn the attention of Maria Zampini, President of UpShoot, who is present at the show.
Positive vibes
The snowy weather may have cast a chill on Baltimore, but according to Plant Development Services Inc. it couldn't dampen the spirits at MANTS. They showcase plants that "bring both personality and purpose to the landscape." The varieties of their range include 'Sunshine' Ligustrum, EverColor 'Everillo' Carex, Platinum Beauty Lomandra, and Encore Azalea Autumn Kiss.

Ken Fisher, Sales Director at Orora Visual is also positive about the atmosphere at the show floor, saying: "We're experiencing great energy at MANTS again this year. Everyone seems to be coming off of the Holidays with a renewed enthusiasm for the upcoming Spring season. Our team is busy meeting with growers who manage branded plant programs and putting the final touches on custom design programs for 2025. We're always excited to see design concepts come to life and be on display throughout the show." .

Plants and flowers in the spotlight
MANTS provides attendees the chance to admire all kinds of flowers and plants. Those interested in perennials, may be interested in the booth of Rijnbeek perennials. At booth 2101, they are showing their bareroot perennials which they supply to customers in the USA, Canada and Europe. Additionally, they showcase container grown perennials of the bareroot material shipped earlier to the USA. "In this way visitors see the power and the quality of the perennials shipped to them," explains Dave Dagen and Marcel van Vemde.
Rijnbeek perennials is represented at MANTS. Interested in a chat? You can send an e-mail to [email protected] or [email protected]
At Star Roses and Plants they are celebrating Knock Out® 25th Anniversary.

Maria's highlights
Amidst all this plant diversity, Maria Zampini, President of UpShoot, was so kind to highlight some varieties that caught her attention. At the Twixwood Nursery booth, she came across, for instance, these variegated Sedums from Darwin Perennials: Sedum spurium 'What a Doozie' and 'Atlantis'. She says:" I have grown Atlantis myself several times in my container garden and it always grabs my neighbors attention when they walk by. So there is still a fascination with variegated plants.'"

She also is enthusiastic about the Rockies Helleborus series from Must Have Perennials. She says: "To me Hellebores are usually all about the flower but I love the unique foliage types and colors that this series brings to the table."

And plants that made her wish that she lived in a warmer climate included Pineapple Mila, part of the Southern Living Plant Collection, and Gazania 'Luna'. Both from Must Have Perennials too.

Others also seem to enjoy this three-day event, some use it as an occasion to catch up with partners and friends.
