One of the indispensable flowers of the winter season, daffodils, are sold for 50-100 TL in the field for a bunch of 120, and 150-200 TL on the counter.
President of Karaburun Chamber of Agriculture Osman Gunay, expresses that the narcissus flower symbolizes Karaburun with its scent, long-lasting durability and pleasant appearance. Producers collect the narcissus from the fields and distribute them to cities such as Izmir, Istanbul and Ankara. Osman Günay, who stated that this year, the watered and thirsty daffodils were mixed together due to the late rains, stated that producers did not irrigate their fields due to the increasing water costs. While the price of a bunch in the first harvest period was 500 TL, the field prices dropped to 50 TL due to the effect of the south-west wind. Today, daffodils are sold for 150-200 TL.
