Elburg-Smit sees growing demand

North Americans eagerly seeking innovative packaging solutions

The demand for packaging solutions is on the rise as they are increasingly used as marketing tools to differentiate products and attract consumers. This trend is particularly evident in North America, where Dutch packaging company Elburg-Smit sees significant growth. To strengthen its presence in the region, the company established Elburg-Smit USA last year and, in January, made its second appearance at the Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) in Florida. There its diverse product range garnered substantial attention.

"At the show, we positioned ourselves as a one-stop shop for labels and packaging in the botanical sector," says Gerard van Rijn, the company's Account Manager. "With a strong focus on design, production, fulfillment, and logistics, we showcased how we can fully support growers and retailers with innovative and sustainable solutions."

Over the years, this 90-year company has significantly expanded its range of packaging solutions. To accommodate its growing operations, the company began a 4,000-square-meter expansion of its production and storage facilities in the Netherlands last spring. "We now offer a broad assortment of labels, cappers, pot covers, and our innovative SmartCups," van Rijn adds. The company's extensive product lineup attracted strong interest from both retailers and growers at TPIE.

The Canadian and U.S. markets remain a key focus for Elburg-Smit. Following its successful participation at TPIE, the company continues to invest in increasing its visibility at trade fairs. Up next: Cultivate'25 in Columbus (OH) in July.
